September 19, 1997 Vol. 51 No. 2 “’Broken trust’ between Wilson and Widener” Eleanor Wilson’s family once owned the home at 13th and Potter formerly housing the Widener Art Museum. She does not approve of the current use as a sorority house. November 7, 1997 Vol. 51 No. 8 “Hard work pays off: Accreditation achieved for Widener School of Business Administration” The International Association for Management Education accredited the School of Business Administration this past week. Dean Joseph DiAngelo is very pleased. Story includes photo of Dean DiAngelo. “An Evening With a Governor” Three Widener students had dinner with New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman on October 29th. Story includes photo of Governor Whitman. “The Boydell Shakespeare Gallery” Widener Art Gallery presents a selection of prints from engraving of the Boydell Shakespeare Gallery on November 5th. Exhibit will be at the Gallery until December 20th. November 21, 1997 Vol. 51 No. 10 “Students open wallets and hearts for AIDS Quilt” Widener will host a section of the AIDS Quilt March 11th to 14th, 1998. While there is no charge to display the quilt, there will be a fundraiser to help pay the shipping costs. Story includes photo of the quilt fully displayed in Washington. “Chemical engineer speaks at Widener” Anthony Zadrozny, a chemical engineer at ARCO, spoke to the faculty on government regulations of chemical companies and the industry’s self regulated Responsible Care standards. “In Remembrance: Stefan Thomas Ushka” Stephan Ushka was killed in an accident while driving his mountain bike on November 5, 1997. He was a member of Pi Lambda Phi fraternity. A scholarship in his honor was established at Garnett Valley High School. December 4, 1997 Vol. 51 No. 11 “Scholar brings poetry and politics to Widener” On December 3rd, Dr. Kivutha Kibwana delivered a poetry reading at University Center. He is law professor at the University of Nairobi, Kenya and a faculty member of Nairobi International Law Institute of Widener University School of Law. Most of the poems were about the political strife in Kenya. “Remembering Pearl Harbor” December 7th is the 56th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Pennsylvania Military College, now Widener University, prepared for a possible attack here. “Widener student in London” Brian Schreiner, a Finance major, joined the Fall ’97 Study Abroad Program. “The time to join is now” The Dome is understaffed. Attend a Dome staff meeting to learn more. “Letters to the Editors” More comments on article about students who had dinner with New Jersey Governor Whitman. “Widener grad ‘runs for life’” Frank J.
