November 14, 2003 Vol. 03 No. 3 “Crime on College Campuses” Crime statistics from the past few years at Widener. “Steel Magnolias: Comedic Tearjerker hits Widener” On October 28th through November 2nd, Theatre Widener presented Robert Harling’s Steel Magnolias. “Letters to the Editor” Reader takes offense to the “Moron Moment” feature from a previous issue. “Celebrate International Students” Article on the origins of and the importance of International Week. “The Schwarzeneggererer” Arnold Schwarzenegger has been elected governor of California, with little political experience, much like Ronald Reagan. “Applications Sought for Postdoctoral and Senior Research Associative Awards” The National Research Council of the National Academies announces the 2004 Postdoctoral and Senior Research Associateship Programs to be conducted for over 120 research labs. “Campus Safety: Taking it to the Streets” Campus Safety has begun patrolling on bicycles as well as in their car. “Widener Happenings” Calendar November 2003. “What’s Buggin You?” Is Widener lacking in the school spirit department? “Chilling and Fascinating Dramas at Theatre Widener” Theatre Widener presents two chilling one act dramas: Edward Albee’s Zoo Story and Lanie Robertson’s The Insanity of Mary Girard. “Writer’s Block” Work submitted by students. “The Dome Gains National Exposure” A Dome article was submitted to the College Media Review, the leading academic journal on advising collegiate media, and has been accepted. “Fine Arts Council Working Towards More Art Programs” Professor Lieberman and Professor Parker have formed a Fine Arts Council to rectify the lack of art classes available at Widener.
