Folder 2: Widener University African American Heritage Project: commemorates African American students at Pennsylvania Military College. Howard Lee Scott, (PMC Class of 1957), from Perry, Florida, was the first African American Graduate of Pennsylvania Military College. Charles Taylor Lowrie (PMPS Class of 1956), from Miami, Florida, was the first Black admitted to the Preparatory School. Lowrie went on the graduate from PMC in 1961.
