Scrapbook 1: Scrapbook from 1922 - 1925, created by Charles W. Law, Class of 1925. Donated by C. Blair Law, Class of 1954, his son (04.7) Blair Law and his father Charles Law were both Corp Commanders and are the only father/son duo to hold that position of leadership. This box also contains a CD of pictures of Blair & Charles Law.
Blair Law wrote of this scrapbook:
"Includes some interesting newspaper articles about P.M.C., its leaders, (including John Wanamaker, merchant, one-time Postmaster General, long time P.M.C. Board Member and Board Chairman.) Also some great sharp photos of the Cadet Corps, some distinguished military visitors (General "Black Jack" Pershing, of WW I fame) etc. Many shots of Polo Games --a long time PMC tradition."
Scrapbook Number1 also includes photograph of 1922 Football Team; Class of 1925 graduation picture on the steps of Old Main; Summer Camp pictures including tents, drilling; Newspaper article from the Philadelphia Public Ledger about Charles Hyatt with the headline "Home of the P.M.C., where Manhood is Developed; grade report for Charles Law from 1923; article in New York Times with headline "Colleges Urged To Take Up Polo; Hyatt of P.M.C. points Out the Value of Sport in Teaching Self-Reliance"; Newspaper articles from unknown papers with headlines: "P.M.C. Sets Stage for Big Pageant: Secretary of Labor Davis and Other Notables Here Wednesday"; "P.M.C. Flag Sets At Half Staff: Lowered in memory of Late John Wanamaker, Board President; "P.M.C. Graduates Conduct Class Day Exercises: Military Training Praised in Class Oration of Cadet C.W. Law"; Scrapbook also includes copy of this Class Oration by Charles Law; photographs of some of Charles Law's friends; Commencement Program from 1925; personal photographs of Charles Law's including one of a plough attached to an automobile with a bicyclist pushing the plough.
Scrapbook 2: donated by David Rittman, Class of 1965. Includes many photographs of campus life, the band, cadets marching both on and off campus, summer camp in 1964, General Eisenhower on campus, Dave Rittman, flight training 1965, Independence Hall parade in Philadelphia 1965. Also includes decal of large-chested PMC cadet. Digital images created of this scrapbook in 2008.
Scrapbook 3: Scrapbook created by Ben Feinsod, Class of 1956. Printed materials are originals, photographs are photocopies. Also included are clippings from the Dome on various topics.
Scrapbook 4: Walter Wood scrapbook of athletic clippings, primarily from 1943, donated by Ed Gephart.
