Captain Lewis Sidney Morey becomes Professor of Military Science and Tactics. Previous professor was Lieutenant Carl A. Baehr of the 22nd Infantry. Morey commanded Troop K., Tenth Cavalry in battle at Carrizal, Mexico. The Carrazana troops defeated Morey's troop. Morey suffered a serious wound under his left shoulder. On the field of battle, Morey ordered three Negro troops to leave him there and save themselves. Morey finally made his way back to headquarters of General Pershing. Other troops killed in the battle included Captain Charles T. Boyd and Lieutenant Henry R. Adair.
"Large Enrollment Marks Opening of Fifty-Fifth Year"
1916 saw PMC's highest enrollment in its history. 70 "rookies" enrolled in the fall of 1916. Most of last year's cadets returned. Quotation from Colonel Charles E. Hyatt's opening address to the corps.
"Cadets Triumph over St. John's in Great Battle"

PMC won a 6-0 football game over St. John's College of Annapolis on October 21, 1916.
Muhlenberg Game. – PMC lost 34-0 at Muhlenberg on October 14, 1916.
Delaware Game – PMC lost 21-0 to Delaware College on October 7, 1916.
"Captain Hyatt College Treasurer; Additions to Faculty"
Captain Frank K. Hyatt became the new treasurer after Colonel Milo C. Burt resigned from his position as Vice President and Treasurer. Hyatt was also Vice-Principal of Preparatory School, taught Mathematics, and instructed Cavalry. Addition of various other faculty members for the fall term: Captain Lewis Sidney Morey as Army detail; Professor Herbert J. Wild; Edmund Cramp; Frederic DeL. Comfort; Clarence L. Conner. New titles: Professor Ralph B. Harris, Amos E. Taylor, Edwin J. Kepler, John Roden. A.R. Stanley became Director of Publicity and Registration.
"New 'General Regulations' – Edited By Captain Brautigam – In Hands of All Members of Corps"
Captain Edward Brautigam, Tactical Officer of the Military Department of PMC, published a book of General Regulations given to each cadet. This book replaced old Regulations originally published in 1904 and revised in 1910. Camp regulations and daily calls are listed.
"Remodel Q. M."
Remodeling of Quartermaster's Department. Tailor Shop relocated to be near the Quartermaster.
"Undergraduate Honors and Prizes Conferred at Public Exercises"
Official conferring of undergraduate honors and prizes took place on October 24, 1916. Doctor J. Linwood Eisenberg, Superintendent of Public Schools of Chester, gave an address entitled: "The Value of Education." Scholarship recipients: Cadet Sergeant William R. Simpson, Cadet Corporal Theodore H. Cowee. Orders published by Captain Levi P. Wyman, Adjunct of College, to: Cadet Sergeant William R. Simpson and Cadet Corporals Theodore H. Cowee and Lester T. Wilcox. Honor men: A. Carson Simpson, Robert Ruppin, Frederic DeL. Comfort. A hop, the first of the term, was held after the ceremony in the Mess Hall.

"Devol, P.M.C. Graduate, Retires from Army with Rank of Major General"
Retirement of Brigadier General Carroll A. Devol, Quartermaster Corps, U.S.A. PMC Class of 1878.
"Halloween Festivities – Second Clas Hosts At Entertainment Enjoyed By Corps and Friends"
Robert R. Horlacher and Charles F. Felin, Jr. handled the festivities. Performances were held in the Assembly Room. The Second Class hosted the occasion, as per tradition.
"Cataloguing Library"
New Cadet Librarian William R. Simpson is re-cataloguing all books in the College Library according to a new card-index system.
"Loyal Alumni Dine Team – Allentown 'Grads' Entertain Football Men After Muhlenberg Game"
Allentown PMC alumni hosted the football team for dinner at Elks' Club in Allentown on October 14, 1916. Hosts: Roberts K. Mosser, J. Roderick Taylor, Frederick D. Horlacher, J. Harper Mack. Captain Frank K. Hyatt and Coach Pauxtis were also in attendance.
"Wireless Equipment His Gift to His Alma Mater"
Alumni Doyle Campbell gave a set of complete wireless telegraph equipment to PMC. The wireless was installed in the Physical Laboratory. Plans to begin a wireless telegraphy department. Plans to obtain a license for an experimental station named "Campbell Wireless Station of the Pennsylvania Military College" under direction of engineering professor Herbert J. Wild.
"Grandstand, Seating 700, Presented by Graduates"
Grandstand presented by alumni Walter R. Kirk, George H. Webb, and Stewart E. Hull.
"Happy Youngsters Fill New Preparatory School"
1916 was the Preparatory School's inaugural year. Located in Ladomus Mansion adjoining the campus. Housing shortages for boys. Captain Frank K. Hyatt is Vice-Principal and lices with the boys.
"Pauxtis, Penn's Famous end, Coaches Gridiron Warriors – The Schedule"
"Si" Pauxtis became football coach, replacing "Big Bill" Hollenback. "Dutch" Sommer, football coach in 1913, now coach for Michigan.
"Cavalry at Rose Tree"
First Cavalry Squad, led by Frederic DeL. Comfort, rode to Rose Tree Hunt Club races in Media on October 18, 1916.
Second Class contest for College Oratorical Prize to take place on November 17, 1916.
