James Harvey Gravell. James Gravell was the founder of the American Chemical Paint Company (later known as Amchem Products, Inc.). There is a plaque in Kapelski Learning Center commemorating Gravell. The materials in this folder were donated by the Amchem Corporation, and include a history of Amchem, photographs of Gravell and others (including several of Gravell on campus with President Frank Hyatt), the February 1972 issue of Amchem News that contains an article on the dedication of the Kapelski Learning Center, as well as an original stock certificate of the Delaware River Ferry Company that was owned by Louis Kapelski. (Louis Kapelski was the General Manager of the Ferry Company.) A second folder includes a biography of the life of James Harvey Gravell, a photograph of him, a copy of a speech he gave titled "Unfair Business Methods", original correspondence, and photographs of his cemetery plot at West Laurel Hill Cemetery.
