“Two PMC Graduates Among 3,000 U.S. Troops Who Made History’s First Mass Assault on Arctic: Deliver Supplies for Dew Line Radar Network”

Lt. Robert H. Kneale and Abner P. Mitchell, PMC graduates and members of the Army’s 588th Engineer Battalion delivered 200,000 tons of supplies for a chain of radar stations being strung across the arctic.

“Freed Dies”
Robert H. Freed died of a heart attack on Dec. 12, 1955. He had been working on a recruitment film for PMC.

Brief abstract of goings-on around PMC. Names of those involved in the reunion of the undefeated 1934 PMC football team include: Lin Scarlett (’35), Andy Elko, Ed Stern, Bud Shaw, Russ McGuiney, Bill Turner, Jim Weaver, Bud Pollock, George Burke, Bob Chervanik, Eddie Fay, Jud Timm, Ed Cramp, and Clarence Conner.
“Unk Ewing Dies; Was at PMC 47 Years”
73 year-old Amos Parker (Unk) Ewing, popular superintendent of grounds at PMC, died on Dec. 19, 1955. He had been suffering from illness for several years.
“Memorial Planned to Dr. Rupp”
A memorial is planned for former PMC history professor Dr. George H. Rupp, ideas and donations welcome.
“Cadet Bob Joblin Still in Hospital”
Senior cadet Robert L. Joblin was struck by a hit-and-run driver the night before the homecoming football game and received a fractured skull, fractured pelvis and a compound fracture in his right leg. He remains in the hospital at this time.
