Material from the Chester County Historical Society:
Photocopies of the "Daily Expositor", the first known newspaper printed by Pennsylvania Military Academy, dated Saturday, June 24th, 1865. This item is handwritten and includes poetry, letters, and other articles, and cost 2 cents. It has the words "All Fun and No Harm" at the top.
Additional newspaper articles related to PMA and PMC from various West Chester papers from 1862 to 1969. This box also contains materials related to Alonzo Jefferis that were obtained from the West Chester Historical Society, which owns a journal he wrote in the 1860s.
Photograph in original mat of cadet Lewis Ivens Young, born 2/12/1862. Photo was taken circa 1880, when he was 18 years old. Donated by his great granddaughter Barbars Schaffhauser. She also donated his uniform and hat from when he attended PMA, and these items are in the PMC Museum Collection.
