"Technical Essays"
The Senior Class presented technical essays on November 9, 1927. Participants prepared with Professor Karl Agan. Presenters: George F. Bayer; Paul M. Blake; J. Russell Sackett; John O. Widdoes; James E. Macaulay; Hurst W. Hackett; Edward A. Northrop.
"An Echo of 40 Years Ago"
The _Delmarva Star_ reprinted a story from forty years ago relating to PMC. The article is excerpted and details the death of Colonel Theodore Hyatt, then President of the Pennsylvania Military Academy.
"P.M.C. Grad Given Important Post in City Government of Philadelphia"
Major Clarence E. Myers, class of 1909, is Director of Transit of the municipality of Philadelphia. A brief biography of Myers is also provided.
"Big Enrollment for September"
The Registrar, Dr. N.E. McClure, foresees record enrollment for the 1928-1929 school year.
"Personals"
Edward Backes, class of 1920, and his wife recently celebrated the birth of their son Frank Henry.
Kenneth A. MacAlpine, a former PMC student, recently married Ruth Christine.
Recent visitors to PMC include: Alfred D. Buono, 1926; Henry F. Kreig, Jr., 1926; Charles D. Hummer, 1926; Michael Protovich; Sherwyn L. Davis, 1926; Samuel J. Lyons, 1926; Frank T. Steinhart, Jr., 1920, and wife from Havana, Cuba.
Colonel Hyatt will award chess and checkers prizes to the Senior Class. The games have gained popularity among the cadets.
A new wood floor adorns "Old Main."
Joseph P. McCaffery, class of 1927, might further his education in California.
Hyatt Hall welcomes a new fireplace.
Charles M. Gibb returned to Philadelphia upon the death of his grandmother, Mrs. Ellen T. Deal, in January 1928.
"College Five Beats Graduate Tossers"
The PMC basketball team defeated the Chester Collegians by the score 25-24 on January 14, 1928. Team: Wright, Miller, Shaw, Widdoes, Brennan.
"College Poloists Defeated by First City Troopers"
The PMC polo team lost to First City Troop by the score of 9-7 on January 14, 1928. Team: Bower.
"Cadet Poloists Win Two Game in Brooklyn, NY"
The PMC polo team defeated the 101st Cavalry Class A by the score 7-1/2 to 3-1/2 on January 21, 1928. Team: Whitehurst, Bower, Jones.
PMC's second polo team defeated the 101st Cavalry Class C team by the score 5-1 on January 21, 1928. Team: Montrezza, Nicholls, Smith.
"P.M.C. Defeats West Point in Two Polo Games; Cadet Stickmen Win Three Out of Four February 4"
The PMC first team defeated West Point by the score 11-9 on February 4, 1928. Team: Whitehurst, Bower, Jones. The PMC second team defeated the West Point Juniors by the score 11-6. The PMC preparatory team defeated Wenonah Military Academy by the score 9-5. The PMC freshman team was defeated by the Philadelphia Juniors by the score 6-5.
"Cadets Bow to Osteopathy"
The PMC basketball team lost to the Philadelphia College of Osteopathy by the score 29-19 on January 21, 1928. Team: Brennan, Shaw.
"Cadets Defeat Optometry College"
The PMC basketball team defeated the Philadelphia College of Optometry by the score 33-23 on January 26, 1928. Team: Warren, "Bud" Shaw, Brennan.
"Cadet Poloists Win Two Games in Philadelphia"
The PMC polo team defeated the Brooklyn Riders and Rivers Club by the score 21-6 no January 28, 1928. The cadet second team also won the same day.
"Cadets Win From Drexel Institute"
The PMC basketball team defeated Drexel Institute by the score 20-19 on January 28, 1928. Team: Brennan. In January 1928, Lieutenant Gibney was appointed basketball coach, replacing "Pop" Elliott.
"Day of Prayer"
The Annual Day of Prayer for Schools and Colleges was held on January 26, 1928. Rev. Dr. William Barnes Lower, the pastor of Holy Trinity Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, addressed the cadets. Rev. Dr. Gladstone Holm, PMC's Methodist chaplain, led morning services. The event has taken place since 1867.
"Gym Classes"
Mr. R. rank Mountcastle, of the Philadelphia Turngemeinde, has begun gym classes in preparation for the annual athletic exhibition to take place on March 16, 1928.
"Coach Pauxtis Remains with P.M.C."

The PMC basketball team lost to Johns Hopkins by the score 27-23 on February 4, 1928. Team: Wright, Warren, Shaw, Brennan, Widdoes, Craig.
"Cadet Poloists Aim for Championship in Outdoor Field"
The PMC polo team will compete for the annual intercollegiate polo championship in Rye, NY. The article traces the polo season and praises Coach Frank Hyatt. Promising second string players include: Neuwiler, Nickolls, Shaffhauser, Neison, Bland, Dunlap.
"Lieut. Gibney Appointed New Cage Coach"
Lieutenant Jesse Gibney, Assistant Professor of Military Science and Tactics, was appointed basketball coach in February 1928, replacing "Pop" Elliott. A brief biography is given.
